Cheryl Kozera Founder/Director
Having been involved in pageant management and production as well as consultation in contestant training for pageant preparation for well over a decade, Ms. Kozera Cheryl Kozera attributes her love and passion of this industry and the personal development of the girls she has worked with to her success. Her philosophy of treating contestants as equals, that they are all winners and that they will leave this experience a stronger, more confident young woman is what encourages contestants to become involved in her pageants. Having earned an excellent reputation with many dignitaries, business owners and organizations, Ms. Kozera makes it her mission statement to treat all people as important as the next and to make them comfortable in her presence. Cheryl Kozera has been awarded the “Crystal Crown Award” from pageant icon, Mrs. Joan Hart, President of Canada Pageant Management Strategy for her dedication and excellence in pageant management and production. The production of the Miss North Ontario Regional Canada Pageant is a dream she has held for many years and intends to bring Northern Ontario pageantry into a new era introducing a new approach of stage production and pageant management.
Stacy Moriarity Vice President
Her journey in the pageant and modelling industry began at age 11 when she entered her first model search and was awarded the overall winner to attend the CMTC ModelingConvention in Toronto. She was awarded “Grand Overall Child Model of the Year” at that venue and from there started her pageant career bringing home the titles of Miss Teen Sudbury 1997, Miss Teen All Canadian 1997, Miss Capreol 2002, Miss Northern Ontario Canada 2002 and Miss All Canadian 2003. Stacy brought her experience as a certified modelling instructor teaching many young boys and girls to discover their inner talents through modelling and dance instruction. It was through her pageant titles that she was encouraged to pursue the great reward of volunteer work, working closely with many great charities, some being “The Crohn’s & Colitis Society” and “Child Find Sudbury Chapter” and “Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer”. She has been Master of Ceremonies to many events, most importantly being the “Northern Star Photo Contest” held in Sudbury in 2002, which she organized and hosted, donating all proceeds to Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer. Stacey brings many years of experience through actual pageant participation to this event and will undoubtedly contribute her skills to make this venue one of a kind.
LACEY BUDGE Communications Officer
From a young age, Lacey always loved performing and being on stage. She grew up dancing, modelling and acting and spent her teenage years running a dance and modelling studio which she founded in Espanola. Lacey grew up watching pageants on TV with her mom and sister and was ecstatic when she was given the chance to compete. In 2009, at Miss North Ontario Regional Canada Pageant Lacey placed overall 2nd runner-up as well as won the award for Beauty with a Purpose, Stage Presence, tied for public speaking and was a finalist for fitness. Most importantly, she was selected as a national finalist to represent Espanola at Miss World Canada in B.C. In 2010, Lacey placed 1st runner-up at the national event among 40 delegates. This opened several doors for Lacey including scholarships, photo shoots and an invitation to compete in Miss Earth Canada in Montreal. Lacey accepted the offer in 2011 with the goal to promote her passion for health and the../images/Lacey_Budge-(2).jpg environment by presenting her platform for sustainable agriculture. Overall, she placed 2nd runner-up and was a finalist for Beauty for a Cause as well as evening gown presentation. Her love for pageants continued as she continued to learn more about herself and important life skills (interview, public speaking, media relations, self-esteem, multi-tasking, leadership, health & fitness). Thanks to Ronaldo Soriano and Rosotro Productions, Lacey was selected as the Canadian representative to compete at Bride of the World (BOW). She already competed in part 1, held in Singapore where she won the Salonic Impression award for her presentation in an evening gown and international costume. Part 2 of BOW will take place in the fall of 2012 in Macau, China. Since her participation in MNORCP, Lacey has returned yearly as judge, liaison for the delegates, translator and a motivational speaker where she gives inspirational self-development workshops about self-esteem and living life to our highest potential. With all her experience in pageantry, we are excited to welcome her aboard as our Communication Officer where she will act as a resource person and consultant regarding pageants as well as training for delegates at the local or national level. Lacey is also a secondary school teacher, Holistic Nutritionist and yoga teacher.
NATALIE CARRIERE DelegateTraining/Choreographer
Born an raised in Iroquois Falls Ontario, Natalie fell in love with Natalie CARRIERE pageantry from a young age. She joined her first event at the age of thirteen where the love only continued. Natalie went on to win titles such as Miss Teen Ontario North 2009, Miss North Ontario Regional Canada 2011, Miss Earth Ontario 2013 and more. She represented Canada on the international stage in the USA, Thailand and the Philippines, voted media favourite, a finalist in swimwear, runway and even breaking into the semi-finals. She now enjoys sharing this passion with other young women. Whether it’s mentoring them for their pageants or speaking at events or workshops, Natalie can see what makes someone shine and help them discover it for themselves. In her spare time, she enjoys hosting events, theatrical arts, hiking and keeping physically active. Natalie believes that pageants can offer great life skills that can take young women anywhere in life, from interview and public speaking skills, confidence and even some opportunities to travel the world! Natalie supports MNOs mission; promoting tourism in the north as well as beauties with a purpose. Northern Ontario has so much to offer!
Christine Robinson Stage Director
An alumni delegate who was scouted to participate in MNO while an employee in a ladies shop, Christine brings her amazing spirit, personality and hard work Christine ROBINSON ethic to the MNO team as our Stage Director. Her first-rate sense of personal style in wardrobe and interior decorating as well as supreme business and computer skills will undoubtedly be an integral contribution to making our stage productions an event our delegate families and supporters will not want to miss. Having continued as a volunteer since her involvement in the 2nd production of Miss North Ontario ten years ago, the MNO executive recognizes and acknowledge her dedication and welcome her to the team.
JOAN (JEANNE) HART Consultant/Communications Specialist
Joan Hart is the author of the 1998 Best Seller Book, “Pageants – Pageants”. Her book is also available at several Canadian Libraries. Presently; President of the N.S.E.W. – Joan HartCanada Pageant Management Strategy & a Communication Specialist. Visual Art, Artist/”Oil, Acrylic and Water Color”. She donated several paintings to successful Fundraising Events. In 1992, one of her paintings was the subject of a postage stamp. Creative Fashion & Pageant Consultant. She directed and hosted the honorary – Sudbury Northern Ontario Wedding Fashion Show for six consecutive years. She conducts workshops on Self Improvement at Cambrian College & Chapters Book Store. Joan alsooffers to all age youth, private Pageant Teaching and Coaching with respect to Pageant procedures, preparation and competition. Former – Coordinator of the Miss North Bay Pageant, Former – President & coordinator of the Miss Northern Ontario Canada Pageant and total Pageant involvement for the past 33 years.
Certified Judge, Joan Hart has internationally judged over 300 Pageants, Also has a great passion for Volunteer work. In 1994 Honorable Mayor Jim Gordon presented her with the Mayor and Council’s Civic Pageant Dedication and Volunteerism Award, for 25 years of acts of kindess. In 2005, The Capreol and North Bay Pageant nominated and honored Joan with a special award, “The Joan Hart’s Award”, for her warmth, charm and kindess to the girls and her interest in assuring the success of these Pageants has enhanced its popularity. Year 2006, President Cheryl Kozera added this award to her yearly pageant, the Miss North Ontario Regional Canada Pageant. This Award “Crown, Banner & Flowers” goes to the Contestant exemplifying respect for all, personality, confconfidence, presence & dedication to the pageant industry. Her recent accomplishment was being a technical Pageant consultant for the ABC Television movie “Beautiful Girl”. She is better known as the Queen of Queens!
